You are watching: 2001 vw beetle turn signal relay
My girlfriend has actually a 2000 1.8t Beetle. She has actually been getting mad despite becuase her turn signals will certainly work and also blink about 2 or 3 times and then stop.. If she turns them off and then back on the same thing happens. I have gone out and pulled the fuse, changed it, and also got the exact same thing. Periodically If i pull that out and also then wedge it into place sideways, it functions for a little bit and then stop again. That is fustrating since she drives a lot and also really can"t usage her revolve signals. I was reasoning of probably trying to perhaps soder a little bit the medal ~ above the fuse yet afraid something negative my happen. Any ideas or aid or and other usual issues? Please aid ASAP thanks as always!!!
Re: rotate Signals in a 2000 VW beetle working then stoping..... Help!!!! (Turbo99jetta)I think there is a relay crate for the turn signals that may have need part looking into.
Re: rotate Signals in a 2000 VW beetle working then stoping..... Help!!!! (gt2437)after looking into it a tiny bit more today, it looks like the contact points for the fuse space pushed earlier into the unit farter 보다 they need to be. Once i take it a check light come the fuse however when in the fuse box, im getting a postive strength out of both political parties of the fuse. Can it it is in a bad relay? would certainly the extended warrenty covering this? ns love my dubs, but tiny things choose this and the wait bag irradiate are beginning to obtain old, and the wastegate ~ above the turbo obtaining stuck open......
Re: turn Signals in a 2000 VW beetle functioning then stoping..... Help!!!! (Turbo99jetta)We had the same problem on our 2000 1.8T Beetle. The problem in our situation turned out to it is in the turn signal relay which is situated in the emergency flasher switch in the middle of the dashboard. Replacing this risk switch (it wasn"t terribly high-quality or difficult to replace) fixed the problem. This was not an unusual problem and may it is in your trouble as well.Regards,Tom98 GTI (VR6)00 pest (1.8T)
Re: rotate Signals in a 2000 VW beetle working then stoping..... Help!!!! (Turbo99jetta)im start to wonder if its no that together well. Quiet under prolonged warrenty and also i should take the automobile in because that the wait bag irradiate so ns gonna have actually them look at that as well.. Just need ot have actually the time now...

Re: revolve Signals in a 2000 VW beetle functioning then stoping..... Help!!!! (Turbo99jetta)It cannot be a fuse issue. If it works for 3 clicks and also then stops and also then reactivating the rotate signal works for an additional 3 clicks - over there is no method its the fuse. The fuse is just a wire - for this reason you need to see the same voltage in ~ both sides. If the present is too high the burns out and is an open up circuit. If its blow, the signal would certainly not work at all. Bridging a fuse is a bad idea in any situation - you only make points worse due to the fact that the safety maker that is the fuse is removed - resulting in much worse burn-outs ~ above the circuits. It is most likely, like folks have actually said, the relay. These relays have digital circuits in them that control the speed of the blinking and switching the front and rear (4 in all) signals and also is tied right into the emergency flashers as well.If that under warranty, it must be a spanned item. If its no under warranty, signal relays space usually reasonably cheap parts. Replace it.
