I just replaced one of my engines with a new 18HP B&S Vanguard v twin design Number 356447 3079 G1 (serial Number 1804021104540). This goes on a Toro Greensmaster and the engine is linked to a hydraulic pump. I desire to make certain the engine is to run at ideal high and low RPM. Does anyone know what this engine top RPM is supposed to be set from the factory? i was told 3600RPM (factory no load) which appears high. One idle that 1750 (red spring) or 1100 (white spring) is the idle speed. Out of package it runs at 3575 high RPM and 1650 idle RPM (With a surge at low RPM). What is the engine design 350447 kind 1331-E1 code 04051311 an alleged to operation for high RPM? I thought I saw 2950 RPM in the company manual i beg your pardon is what I collection it at. Why would certainly these 2 engines have such a difference in high RPM if both of these numbers room correct for high RPM?Also I view a change in oil requirements. My old hand-operated states SAE 30Wt oil end 40 degrees readjust at 50 hrs and filter at 100. My brand-new manual states oil adjust and filter at 100 hrs can use 5w-30 fabricated or 15w-50 B&S synthetic. I beg your pardon is the best and also does the brand-new manual supersede the old hands-on for engine design 350447?Thanks because that all her helpSean

5w-30 synthetic is correct, review engine manual, adjust oil & filter after an initial 5 hours, rest in period, climate every 100 hrs. I use Valvoline or Pennzoil 5w-30 fabricated & adjust b&s filter every oil change. I likewise check oil level prior to each use & save a near eye on waiting filter, inspect often.

Thanks because that the replies. I will recheck the RPM at the first oil readjust for break in period to see if it has changed. Is there a certain procedure for break in a new engine? i am currently running straight 30W till the very first oil readjust then I will switch come 5w-30 full syn. Any ideas on why it would certainly be surging at idle speed fresh the end of the box?I have at least ten 18 HP B&S Vangaurd v twins in my fleet from miscellaneous years and also various hrs that operation hydraulic pumps ~ above machines. Most have been set at 2850 RPM. I will check each number in ~ my B&S dealer to watch the exactly top finish RPM. Right here are a couple of of mine B&S engines

Sean ........ The best means to explain the various RPM's ~ above engines is this.......... When a manufacture company come out with a product, they will certainly tell Briggs what castle have and also Briggs come out v that engine for that company and that type of tools they have.... Example..... Friend will view a most the same version numbers v different form codes, the middle set of numbers..... Those numbers room for the Trim color stickers and so on ETC...... RPM's are collection at the factory with particular color coded springs and also in a different hole on the governor arm for various applications, such as your hydraulic pumps..........On press mowers RPM's are collection to what size blade is on lock ...... In the little Briggs engine hand-operated there is a ar for RPM's according to blade size...... Put it this way, if her Briggs are collection to 2850 for your pumps and also you pin them up to 3600 you could burn your pumps up..... Pumps room not a dime a dozen these days....... To add Tard Mon Ami ~!~!

Yes. Initial engine (350447) was to run at 2850 RPM together are other engines in the fleet (not 2950 confirm my note again) I have actually researched the FSM because that this device and it lists the optimal "no load" RPM to be 2850 (+or minus 50 )RPM because that the hydraulic system. Idle is 1650 (+ or minus 100) i m sorry is what it is running the end if the box. Ns was under the assumption this to be a straight fit. Need to I readjust governor springs / setups to get the " no fill " speed set at 2850 on the replacement engine? Here is the attach for the replacement engine because that this an equipment which comes up together B&S3564473079G1 i beg your pardon is what i purchased.
