You are watching: How to disable toyota corolla car alarm
Hello,I am having an issue with Toyota Corolla 2003 LE alarm. The car alarm goes off when I open the door in the car. The car will not start when I turn the key in the ignition. There was an aftermarket car alarm installed in the car before I purchased it. Look at this first 50 seconds of this video and I"m having the same issues up to that point:
When the issue first started a few days ago, I was able to start the car by turning the key in the ignition and pushing a (Valet?) switch under the steering wheel. See this video for what I did:
That method doesn"t seem to be working anymore. How can shut off my car alarm? Here are some pics of my car:https://imgur.com/tPaVTE7https://imgur.com/4gCZC7dInside the hood:https://imgur.com/oU8PfBMhttps://imgur.com/fiFzpaXhttps://imgur.com/0mgd0Tv
Aftermarket car alarm, not OEM... there"s your problem, if you can"t do the removal you may have to pay a shop to do it as who knows what kind of wiring job the installer did.At least with OEM alarms there"s a wiring schematic that shows the wires, Aftermarket you"re hoping the installer is good and does a good job... 50/50 chance unless you know the shop that did it.
Disconnect your alarm, fix your wires and insulate with electrical tape... Find someone that can rip the alarm out and repair your electricals for you.
